Artist Statement

My work alludes to an underlying current of knowing that is

governed by feelings and emotions. The images that I produce

are symbolic of an inner-personal and vulnerable human existence.

They develop their identity through spontaneity, intuition,

association and chance.

Process

I use dried paint consisting of chips, paint skins, and paint puddles to make my paintings I take the dried paint and re-appropriate it into abstract expressionistic figurative imagery.

All the paint is torn or cut then glued to the wood panel. It is all made with paint that has dried.

I randomly pour or squeeze paint onto plastic sheeting and leave it

to dry.

I then peel the paint from the sheeting, decide which side to use,

and cut or tear and build my paintings

The work involves aspects of collage, assemblage, sculpture, appliqué and painting.
